The sponge fell
Into the water
As the water riffled
My hands weak
Letting it go
All of it
I watched
The tears drip
One by one
The water was
A feeling
Of emptiness
I realized
I am
A teardrop in a bathtub
The sponge fell
Into the water
As the water riffled
My hands weak
Letting it go
All of it
I watched
The tears drip
One by one
The water was
A feeling
Of emptiness
I realized
I am
A teardrop in a bathtub
Just think about everything you’ll miss
Listening to music late at night
The small things that matter
Just start seeing the light
But it’s really not that easy
Life has no purpose anymore
I don’t want the lights
It’s the stars I adore
You have come this far
Think about the people you love
Don’t leave them behind
It’s never too late to rise above
I have come this far
But what’s the point if I one day die
No one will remember me
Years after I’ve said goodbye
What about your dreams
Everything you want to become
Isn’t it worth fighting for
You are not like everyone
I always hoped
One day it would be better
But one day has already come
And it has only gotten worse
Just don’t give up
It will be alright
Just talk to someone
Believe me, they won’t fight
I have opened my mouth
Enough times to know
That no one cares
Everyone is my foe
If you take your life
The demons will have won
Don’t let that happen
You have to overcome
Don’t you see
You are a voice inside my head
I have already lost
I am only a skeleton lying in bed
But just wait
This cannot be the end
If you do this I will also die
And I am your only friend
You are not my friend
You are my enemie
My only friend is God
You are only a reflection I see
I lost my friend today
You came to talk to me
As I was standing under
The lonely tree
You began speaking
But soon your words where swallowed
By a goodbye
I knew that I have finally lost you
Eventhough you were never mine
Suddenly I felt like the tree
As I saw your ponytail disappear
Around the corner
I lost my friend today
I am the lonely tree
Providing shade
But still unnoticed
It fades
I stood there
As the word echoed
Through my mind
Disappointment surrounded me
As I was left behind
One word
I lost my friend today
Goodbye
It’s 2020! A new year. A new decade. A new beginning. But sometimes it is hard to see it that way. Some of us don’t see the things right in front of us because we are still living in the past.
Our lives are rotating around memories, but what if we just keep remembering things we regret.
“Regrets and mistakes are memories made…”
This is part of the lyrics of Adele’s song ”Someone like you”.
I totally agree with that statement. Regrets and mistakes are nothing more than memories, and pretty much the only thing we can do about it, is regret it.
That’s the problem. We lie awake at night because of regrets, eventhough we can’t change anything.
Regrets oftenly keep us from living life to the full.
So, how can we stop looking back, and start looking forward?
1. Forgiveness
There is quite a difference between forgiving others and forgiving yourself. For me it’s way easier to look past the mistakes of the people in my life. But when it comes to self-forgiveness it’s not that easy.
Maybe we expect perfection from ourselves. Putting to much pressure on ourselves is something that happens alot.
But just like we forgive others, we should forgive ourselves. So start excepting your past, your flaws, all your mistakes. Remeber you’re not the only one that’s human.
2. Self love
Self love goes hand in hand with forgiveness. In order to forgive yourselve and move on, you should start seeing yourself as worthy. We will make many more mistakes, so the sooner you except it the better. Start loving yourself.
Thanks for joining me!
